Tura Melvin Aldous passed away peacefully on February 29, 2008 at the Canyon Creek Assisted Living Center in Midvale, Utah after enjoying a wonderful and prodigious life. He was 80.







He was born in Salt Lake City on February 19, 1928 to loving parents Tura Merrill and Jessie Spafford. He loved scouting as a youth and served an LDS mission in England. He married his sweetheart Maxine Shosted on June 16, 1950 at the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, and fathered sons, Tura Melvin Jr., and Lynis. He enjoyed to go antiquing with his beloved wife and to travel abroad.








He is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; son, Lynis; sister, Karma; and brother, Newell. He is survived by his sister, Marjorie; brother, Dean; son, T. Melvin Jr. (Jean); daughter-in-law, Lori; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.







Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr. Viewing will be held at the same location Monday, March 3 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to Funeral Services.
