At the age of 76, Julia Arlene Deer Armfield went to be with our heavenly father, and was reunited with her husband and daughter on February 23rd, 2023 in Bastrop, Louisiana.

She will forever be remembered as a very genuine, kind and soft-spoken person who enjoyed spending time with family, listening to music and audio books and having long chats with her grandchildren on the phone. She was widely known throughout Morehouse Parish by many residents as their "paper lady" for over 30 years.

"Arlene", as she was known as by most, was born in Bastrop, LA to Jackson Ananis Deer and Artie Lee Bonner on September 24th, 1946. She attended Bastrop High School and graduated in 1964. She then worked until retirement as a newspaper carrier and circulation manager for Bastrop Daily Enterprise.

Memorial services were held with loved ones at 2pm on Tuesday, February 28th in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Allan Eppinette of Harmony Baptist officiating. She was laid to rest at Carter Cemetery in Bastrop.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Armfield; daughter, Kelli Armfield; parents, Jackson A. Deer and Artie Lee Bonner; brother, Artis Jackson Deer; and mother-in-law, Lois V. Armfield.
