Age 87, she moved to Edinboro to graduate high school and then attend Orra Jean Beauty Academy in Erie where she earned her Cosmetology license, for which she was quite proud. Shirley married the love of her life, George Earle Severance and together they had three children. Their son, Kenten, predeceased his parents on April 11, 1959. Shirley enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, tending to her family, home and yard. When her children began middle school, she became employed at Macko MFG and continued to work there until her retirement.
She will be deeply missed by her family which include her son, George Earle Severance, II; her daughter, Karen (David Shelhamer); as well as a granddaughter.
