Joseph W. BREWER enlisted as a 2nd Lt. in Company C, 1st Regiment, 1st Brigade of he Georgia State Troops on the 18th of September, 1861, for a period of six months of service. He mustered out on the 18th of March, 1862, and enlisted as a 1st Lt. at Camp Davis on the 16th of May, 1862, in the Georgia Rangers, Company I of the 54th Georgia Regiment Infantry. He died on the 27th of February, 1863, from disease.
