McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - J. LaRue Fowler, 89, of Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care Unit, and formerly of 906 Ford Road, Wells Tannery, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Fulton County Medical Center.
Born Sept. 15, 1912, in Saluvia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Leonard Jefferson and Susan Mellott Hockensmith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Donald Fowler, in 1967.
She was a homemaker, and worked as a cook at Gateway Inn in Breezewood, Pa.
She attended Evangel Assembly of God in McConnellsburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Karole Sue Barton of Wells Tannery; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Hawkins Jr.; one sister; six brothers; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fulton County Medical Center Extended Care Unit, 216 S. First St., McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
