Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late James and Marie MacDonald. She is survived by her daughters: Joanne (John Zevenhuizen), Jean (Steve Huxter) and Cathie; son Charles (Carrie Klatt); wonderful grandchildren: Sasha (Eric), Emily (Pat), Kate (Josh), Laura (Nick), Scott (Jenn), Graham (Megan), Maggie (Eric), Zoë, and Xander; and great grand children Tova and Jacob as well as the extended Curry family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Bill; son, Bill; brothers, Raymond and James Martin "Buck"; and by sisters, Ruth, Marie and Joan.
Cathy had a dry sense of humor, a kind and gentle nature, and a deep loyalty to her friends. She will be remembered for her amazing competence at crosswords and love of Impressionist art. She was a graduate of St Joseph's School of Nursing and later pursued her quest for knowledge as a mature student at Saint Mary's University receiving her Bachelor of Arts with a major in English. She volunteered at the Lodge That Gives, loved Sunday lunches at the Chickenburger and supported her friends through the years with weekly baking and visits. She loved to walk the beach in search of treasures. Cathy eagerly anticipated the annual Antigonish Curry family reunions and her annual visits to Florida to visit her brother Buck and his family.
