P. Burr Crume, Retired Local Farmer, Businessman, Dies.
Burr Crume, 84. a retired Bardstown businessman and farmer, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at St. Joseph Infirmary, Louisville, where he was taten by ambulance the afternoon before. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Crume and his wife for the past few years have been living at 415 North Third Street here.
For 25 years Mr. Crume was Standard Oil distiburtor at Bardstown, retiring several years ago. Until fours years ago he was active in farming, at hone time supervising five farms.
He and Mrs. Crume for many years lived at the 2-story brick home on East Beall Street, then moved to their farm home on Pottershop road, where they lived several years. They bought the North Third Street property and moved there a few years ago.
Mr. Crume in his early years was active in civic life of Bardstown. He was a member of the Bardstown Methodist church practically all his life.
Son of the late Fannie Eddleman and Daniel Burr Crume, he was born and reared in the Poplar Flat community of Nelson County.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mayme Figg, whom he married in 1909; one brother, J. Robert Crume, Bardstown; a step-daughter, Mrs. Harry Seeger, Bardstown, and a step-son, J. Sloan Muir, Caledonia, Mo; several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Mann Greenwell & Arnold Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 30. Interment will be in Bardstown Cemetery.
