William J. Bedeker, 81, of Washington, Indiana, formerly of Ransom, died June 21, 2003 at Washington Nursing Center in Washington.

Pallbearers will be grandson: John Morning; and nephews: Jerry and Jim Burke, and John, Jay, Jim and Marty Bedeker. Honorary pallbearers will be: Alisha Morning, Neil and Dan Bedeker, Rick Calvo, and Harry and Ron Sweet.

He was born November 26, 1922 in Allen Township near Ransom, a son of Herman "Pete" and Elizabeth (Nagle) Bedeker. He married Marjorie Lucille Reynolds on June 26, 1971. She died July 10, 1999.

Surviving are a daughter: Lisa (James) Morning of Washington, Indiana; two grandchildren; stepdaughters: Cheryl (Merlin) King of Mitchell, Indiana and Linda (Buck) Starling of Ottawa; a stepson: Gary Bough of Shoals, Indiana; a sister: Anna Mae Sweet of Peoria; and a brother: Donald Bedeker of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Luella Burke; and brothers: Elmer and Lloyd Bedeker.

He attended Ransom schools and was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Ransom when he lived there.

He farmed near Ransom and worked on the Perdue Turkey Farm in Washington, Indiana at the time of his retirement. He had also farmed near Newark, Illinois and Washington, Indiana.

Survivors include one daughter: Lisa (James) Morning of Washington, Indiana; one sister: Anna Mae Sweet of Peoria; one brother: Donald Bedeker of Streator; and two grandchildren.
