Otto Clarence Crandall, was born at home on February 11, 1940, to Eddie and Leola Crandall. He passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Otto grew up on the family farm near Park Rapids, MN. He went to country school about one mile away from home. He then attended high school in Park Rapids. After graduation, Otto enlisted in the Army, and served three years in Germany. Upon returning, he worked for Bill Lacey, on their family farm. He met his future wife who lived across the road. Otto married Evelyn Jirik, on February 13, 1965, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Beaulieu, MN. They purchased a small farm ½ mile NE of Beaulieu. Throughout his life, Otto worked for Faith Flour Mill, Berkners Elevator, Hanson Motors, and S & T Motors, while farming, milking cows, raising sheep, and children. He also spent many hours helping Arnold and Clarence Blaser, with their cattle.

Otto enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, visiting with friends, and helping neighbors when needed. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Mahnomen American Legion and the Bejou VFW. He also held memberships with the Mahnomen Sno Drifters and the Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 58 years; his children: Paulie (John) Neisen, Clyde Crandall, Lindi (Matt) Kulzer, Lillian Crandall, Julie (David) Loebrick, Jeff (MerriLu) Crandall, Kristy (Bert) Leslie, and Andy (Baily) Crandall. Otto is also survived by 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Dano, Everette, and Fredrick (Else) Crandall; and one sister, Lena Martell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Leola; two brothers: Harry and Francis Crandall; two sisters: Ellen Crane and Louissa Buckley; and two grandchildren: Katie and Bethany Kochmann.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 2 pm, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Beaulieu, MN. A Time of Gathering will take place one hour prior to the funeral, at the church. Inurnment will take place in the Crandall Family Cemetery, Park Rapids, MN., at a later date.
