Helen Rimmer Christopher, 81, formerly of Mapleleaf Health Care Center, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Davis Regional Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 1, 1926, in Iredell County, and was a daughter of the late Fred and Viola Campbell Rimmer. Mrs. Christopher had retired from Thonet Industries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Walden. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Cook of Statesville; three sons, Doug and Mike Walden, both of Statesville, and Jeff Walden of Clemmons; a brother, Harold Rimmer of Statesville; four sisters, Rachel Gilmore of Greensboro, Kay Hartness of Maryland, Hazel Troutman of Kannapolis, and Eloise Warren of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Christopher's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, and will be conducted by the Rev. John Parks. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m., preceding the service, at the funeral home.
