(Better known as Big Mama)

Mother Allen was born in Armstead, Louisiana, on June 29, 1918. She had one sister and five brothers. She married at fourteen, had six children later moved to California and had five more children. Mama had God given intelligence and mother wit from a small child, and her prophetic dreams predicted truth, good or bad!
Mama was a devout Christian and the oldest living church member. She was an excellent cook, money manager, seamstress with God given gifts and talents. Her family adored and loved her for her integrity, honesty, and Pearls of Wisdom, such as When you have your fingers pointing out at somebody else, look how many are pointing back at you, When you do wrong it's just like a stop sign waiting on you up the road, Be good people, keep yourself and your house clean. Pay your bills and always be to your word. She would tell us, If you don't want to pay someone back, don't borrow.
