Anna May Pemberton DeCou was the daughter of Joseph Pemberton and Sydnia Pearson and the wife of Clayton DeCou. Anna May, like her father, was a lay minister for Society of Friends (Quakers). She also received two degrees from Earlham College in Indiana. In 1907 she served as President of the Committee of Arrangements for the Centennial Anniversary celebration of the West Branch Monthly Meeting of Friends.
Note that Anna May should not be mistaken for Anna Mary Pemberton, also of Miami, OH, who married Jason D. Uart in 1887.
