• DAVIS -- Services for Bertha Fay Sise, 82, will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Densman, the Rev. Finis Steelman and Dr. David Eggenberg officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

Born Oct. 14, 1918, at Tishomingo to the Rev. Otto and Clara Mayes Wade, she died July 26, 2001, at Davis. She married Emmett Sise Dec. 26, 1933, at Pauls Valley. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Bertha was a homemaker until she started working as a nurse at Hale's Nursing Home in the early 1950s. She was one of the first nurses employed at Arbuckle Hospital in 1961. After working there for 10 years, she began working at the veterans center at Sulphur and retired from there in 1979. Later she gave home care to many of the elderly in Murray County. Bertha was a 23-year cancer survivor and was active in "Relay For LIfe."

Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Jones and her husband, Royce Dale, Davis, and Audrey "Suge" McCaskill Baugh and her husband, Ronnie, Davis; three grandchildren, Marita Jones Carver and her husband, Rick, Norman, Stan Jones and his wife, Daleen, Davis, and Wade McCaskill and his wife, Kim, Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Colton Carver, Rachel, Mackenize, Hunter and Cooper Jones and Ryder and Mavarick McCaskill; and one sister, Norene Morgan, Davis.

Bearers are Randy Moore, Red Reading, Buddy Vinyard, Jimmie Primrose, Dick Jones and Billy Royce Kesler.

Services are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
