The exact burial site is unknown but is likely in Allen Cemetery, given that Artexas's siblings and husband are all interred here. In the cemetery, a 4-grave plot is enclosed with a metal fence. Inside is the CSA grave stone of John L. Aaron. On his left is a grave marked with a field stone with no engraving. This is likely Artexas. On John's left are possibly two family graves (see photos).
Information is from marriage, census, probate, and other records. Artexas was the daughter of John Ashbury Allen and Nancy Crawford Allen. She first married Mallory S. Cheek in Jasper County, GA in November 1862. They had two children: Walter and Alice Cheek. Mallory may have been a musician in the 4th Regiment. Artexas Cheek married John L. Aaron in January 1873 in Jasper County, GA. In addition to their children on this memorial, there may have been one or more family members buried to John's right. The last record of Artexas and John Aaron is the 1920 census in Newton County where they are living with Columbus and Nannie Epps.
