In the 1850 US Federal Census it lists Thomas Stryker age 23, Margaret Stryker age 17 and Martha J Stryker age 1. The family is living in Fairfield Township, Bureau County, Illinois.
In the 1860 US Federal Census they are living in Hamilton Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. Martha J is not listed with the family. They have two daughters; Caroline age 9, born in Illinois and Charlotte age 5 born in Iowa, Wilbu (William) age 3 born in Iowa and Simeon age 1 born in Iowa.
In the 1880 US Federal Census Thomas is now married to Alice Bramer and living in Lick Creek Township, Davis County, Iowa. Thomas age 49, Alice age 28, Ellen age 15 and the two sons of Thomas and Alice, Manford age 5 and Dale age 2.
In Margaret and Thomas's daughter, Charlotte's obit (FAG #182965749) it states that her mother died when she was 7 years old, which would make her death year 1862.
Thomas Stryker was also married to Catherine Moore after 1862, as Thomas's youngest daughter, Sarah Ellen Stryler, who was born in 1866 lists her mother's name as Catherine Moore in her marriage to Levi Kemper in 1883.
Thomas Stryker married Alice Bramer in Poweshiek County, Iowa in 1872 and by the 1880 US Federal Census the family was living in Davis County, Iowa.
When Thomas S Stryker died in 1897, the family lived in Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa. So I think the family had him buried by his first wife.
