Roger C. Anderson, age 74, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Deacon Ronnie Sykora and Deacon Robin Waters, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Terry Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park near Waco.

Roger was born March 18, 1948 in Waco, the son of the late Cecil and Viola (Clements) Anderson.

He was a 1966 graduate of Penelope High School, before attending Hill Junior College and the University of Texas in Arlington.

On May 3, 1985 he was united in marriage to Amelia "Molly" Bernal in West.

Roger was a patrol officer for Waco Police Department for 38 years before retiring in 2009.

He was also a member of the Waco Police Association, West Mens Acts and Knights of Columbus Council #2305.

Roger enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and camping with his retired buddies.

He cherished time with his wife Molly and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Amelia "Molly" Anderson of West; his children, Bryan Anderson and wife Jeanne of West, Jeff Taylor and wife Margaret of Gholson, Keri Thompson and husband Jeffery of Hallsburg, and Michelle Goates and husband Kevin of Gholson; a brother, Tal Anderson and his wife Carole; his grandchildren, Cole Anderson, Kaden Anderson, Jimmy and Amanda Taylor, Cody Taylor, Colton Taylor, Mallory and Kevin Sykora, Nathan Binnion, Karson Goates, Cheston Goates, Corbin Goates, and Sharla and Abel Salazar; his great-grandchildren, Landon, Jace, Gabbie, Konnor, Gracelyn and Ava; his cat, "Lucy", and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers Cole Anderson, Nathan Binnion, Kaden Anderson, Abel Salazar, Brian Sembera and Colton Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Waco Police Officers Association.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
