Funeral services for JAMES E. MELTON, 58, 2280 Norman Street, will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the funeral home of the Spencer-Sturla Company. Dr. M. D. Jeffries will conduct the service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Melton died yesterday morning at 12:45 o'clock, at St. Joseph's Hospital, after a six-day illness. He was born in Knoxville. He was a farmer near Halls, Tenn., for several years before coming to Memphis four years ago. He was recently night watchman for the Anderson-Tully Company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Olive Robertson Melton, three daughters, Mrs. J. L. Spencer and Louise and Elizabeth Melton, a son, James E., Jr., a brother, Will Melton, and two sisters, Misses Dolly and Drucilla Melton, Whiteville, Tenn. ~~~THE COMMERCIAL APPEAL, Memphis, TN, May 31, 1930, page 8
