Jack served in the United States Navy. He was a Quincy Police Officer for 30 years from 1969 until retiring in 1999.
Jack and his wife Hazel were members of GWRRA for 40 years and held all the positions in the motorcycle club. He loved to travel and camp. He also greatly enjoyed going to the coffee shop at the 18 Wheeler. He also enjoyed country music.
Jack is survived by:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Valerie Farlin (Ron) of Buffalo, MN, and Jackie Burton of Quincy.
DAUGHTER IN-LAW: Angela Burton of Hannibal, MO
Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
In addition to his wife, Jack was preceded in death by a son Mark Burton and siblings: Edward Burton, John Burton, Wanda Roan, Carroll Burton, Dorothy Preston, Margaret Stinett, and Franklin Burton.
Cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
