Dana graduated from Heritage High School in Fort Wayne and attended Manchester College. He became a private airplane pilot at the age of 18, was a long-distance runner for 45 years, and completed 28 marathons. He was a church organist for over 30 years. At the age 60, he and Michelle started doing '50s ballroom dancing, as well as attending many classic car shows with their 1952 Chevy. Dana worked for Jim Kelly Buick, CTN, and Turnstone, all in Fort Wayne. He loved his dogs, Lincoln and Codee.
Preceding him in death are his father, Earl Dean Budd; uncle, Max Budd; grandparents, Irvin (Faye) Calhoun and Earl (Leota) Budd; and first wife, Ella.
A service to celebrate Dana's life was held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN., with Chaplain Richard Olson officiating. Burial followed at Estates of Serenity.
