Today is the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Yeager, 327 East Beech street, this city. A celebration in honor of the occasion will be held when their son, Major Marvin A. Yeager, and his family arrive from Japan later this month. Mr. and Mrs. Yeager were married June 8, 1914, in the parsonage of the Christ Lutheran Church, this city, by the late Rev. August T. Rohrig. Their attendants were Mrs. Dorothy Harlor and Gus H. Walper, brother of Mrs. Yeager, both of this city. Mrs. Yeager, before marriage, was Stella Walper, this city, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walper. Mr. Yeager, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Yeager, this city, was printing instructor at the Hazleton High School Vocational School from 1952 until his retirement in June, 1960. Prior to teaching, he was employed for many years as a printer in the late Ralph Baker's printing shop. Mr. and Mrs. Yeager are members of Christ Lutheran Church and spend the summers at their cottage at Lake Nuangola. They have one son, Major Yeager, a pilot in the U.S. Air Force who has been stationed for the past three years in Japan. He is married to the former Mary Jo Lott, Douglas, Ga. There is one grandson, Scot Alan Yeager, three and on-half years old.
