Syble H. Mitchell, 86, was gathered into God's loving embrace peacefully in the presence of her sons on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at her home.
Graveside service: 3 p.m. Friday in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Viewing: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Syble was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Stephenville to George and Arizona Hester. She was a loving and faithful mother, a patriot, a proud Texan and a hard worker. She was always faithful to her friends and family. Syble was an accomplished artist, and had some of her works displayed at Arlington Memorial Hospital and at Southwestern Bell's executive office in Dallas. She was among the first fundraisers of Arlington Memorial and HEB Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer Mitchell; brothers, Garth Hester and Bill Hester; and great-grandsons, Brandon Mitchell and Caleb Mitchell.
Survivors: Sons, Jim D. Mitchell, Steven L. Mitchell and Charles A. Mitchell; grandchildren, Karen Dolifka, David Mitchell, Cody Mitchell and Michael Newton; great-grandchildren, Randall Dolifka, Raymond Dolifka and Brayden Newton; brother, Jay Nelson Hester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
