Alice Rose Frea Nunes, age 94, passed away following a brief illness. Alice was born in Lanare to Manuel Santos and Marie de Mello Santos, Portuguese immigrants from the Azores. Alice lived her early years in Riverdale where she attended school along with her brothers and sisters, the late Ernest Santos, John Santos, Manuel Santos, Marie Lopes, Rose Toste, Josephine Homen and Grace Mello. A homemaker for most of her life, Alice also had worked at both the former Tamarack Inn and Water Well Restaurants in Laton. Alice resided in Fresno since 1941.

Over the years, Alice has been a member of the Selma Chapter of the U.P.P.E.C. Portuguese Fra-ternal Society, the Fresno County Cabrillo Civic Club No. 10 and Our Lady of Victory Parish. Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, George Frea; her second husband, John Nunes; and son Dan Frea. Alice is survived by her son, Joe Frea of Fresno; daughter, Alice R. Serpa of Saratoga; and daughter-in-law, Karen Frea of Fresno. She is the beloved grand-mother of Susan Frea-Ruffoni, Danny Frea, Frank Frea, Georgina Frea, Karen Frea, William Frea, Mike Frea, Johnny Frea, David Frea, MaryAnn Serpa and DeeDee Serpa-Wickman. Also surviving are her 12 great-grandchildren, sev-eral great-great grand-children and stepgrand-children, and other members of the Nunes family.

Recitation of the Rosary following and Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Interment at Washington Colony Cemetery in Easton.
