Eason Rites Set at Rotan

Rotan, Feb. 19 - William Walter Eason, 80, retired farmer and former Fisher County resident, died at Tulia Saturday at 1:30 a.m.

He had been ill several months.

Mr. Eason, well known in Fisher County farming circles, lived many years in Avalon Community and was a deacon in the Baptist church there. He was the father of the late Dr. K.K. Eason, Rotan doctor.

Mr. Eason was born in Delina, Tenn., Nov. 17, 1874. He came to Texas with his parents in 1882. He was married in Fisher County to the former Allie Killen on Dec. 9, 1894.

Funeral will be held in the First Baptist Church of Rotan at 2 p.m. Sunday. Officiating will be a son-in-law, the Rev. A.C. Turner, Fresno, Calif. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery under direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Col. R.K. Eason, Biloxi, Miss.; six daughters, Mrs. A.C. Turner of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. R.K. Williams of Ingram, Mrs. Willingham of Tulia, Mrs. LeGrand Holman of Ely, Nev., Mrs. S.S. Jobes of Farwell and Mrs. Charles H. Scott of Sylvester; a brother, Emmett Eason of San Angelo; three sisters, Mrs. Birdie Stephenson of Rotan, Mrs. Bessie Johnson of Merkel and Mrs. S.J. Morton of Lubbock; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
