John Charles' Parents (I have not yet found their burial location in Fulton County IL):
--John Charles Adams (9 Jun 1801–1844); married Deborah on 13 May 1829 in Waterford VT
--Deborah Young (1802, New Hampshire – 21 Aug 1872, Fulton County IL)
--In addition to John Charles (Junior), their children included Cordelia Ann (F.A.G. #46270567), Phidalia Ann (b. 17 April 1832), Mary Margaret, Angeline (who married Peter Boring Sparks with whom she had two children, Negley & Clifton), Helen (married Joseph Parkinson, F.A.G. #58680958), and Harriet Minerva (F.A.G. #42202271) (married Hamilton N. Dickinson).

J.C. married Mary Elizabeth Miller, on 16 Sep 1856 in Bernadotte, Fulton County, IL

J.C. was an honored pioneer of Sierra Valley, California, moving there by covered wagon in 1863 and settled on what became known as the Adams Ranch.

Letter of notification of the death of his Mother, Deborah: written on August 25, 1872 in Pleasant Ridge, postmarked Lewistown, Fulton County IL, by Joseph Parkinson (husband of John's sister, Helen). It reads: "Helen has written to Hattie and Mary and wants me to write to you. It is with regret that I have to write painful news to you. Mother died last Wednesday the 21st at 6 o'clock in the evening. She took sick the Friday before and we went for a doctor. He stopped her diarrhea and vomiting and gave her quieting powders. She appeared to suffer a great deal, but did not make a fuss about it. I sat up with her on Tuesday night and was with her on Wednesday until she died. We had her funeral sermon preached the next day at three o'clock and buried her afterwards and there was a large turnout."
