Ret. USAF MSGT Eugene H. Anthony, Sr., 78, of Poquoson passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Anthony. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Sr., & Ivy Anthony, and sister Betty.

Eugene was born on July 9, 1944, in Baltimore MD. He served 20 years in the USAF as a jet engine mechanic, specializing in the F-15 Eagle. He served in the Vietnam War and many missions around the world. He was frequently recognized by his commanding officers for his excellent work. He retired in 1985 from Langley Air Force Base First Tactical Fighter Wing. He received many awards and accolades including the AF Commendation medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, and NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon.

Eugene began his second career at Muller Martini where he was a dedicated lead technician for 25+ years building bookbinding machinery.

Eugene enjoyed spending time with his family, he loved playing games such as Monopoly & Sorry with his grandchildren. He positively impacted the lives of many through his wisdom, friendship, sense of humor, and generous spirit. He worked hard to provide a better life for his children and instilled those attributes into each of them.

A graveside military service will be held at Hampton Memorial Gardens at 155 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, VA on Saturday, February 11th at 3:00 pm., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life and Repast at Langley Christian Church 175 Fox Hill Rd, Hampton, VA.
