Son of Samuel S. Hite and Anna Hite Hite. Husband of Charity Winegardner Geiger Hite. In addition to those shown below, John and Charity were also the parents of John Benton Hite (14 Mar 1872 - May 1872) and Charity Awilda Hite Lesh(11 May 1873 - 19 Dec 1953), wife of William Henry Lesh.

All of John and Charity's kids were born in Fairfield County, Ohio. John was actually buried in Ohio, but his body was moved to Star of Hope after Charity moved to Huntington County after his death.

John and Charity were married 17 Oct 1865.
