Doris was born in Los Angeles, CA to Raymond Lee Banks and Lillian (Reaves) Banks. She moved to Haskell County, TX, at the age of seven and was a lifelong resident of the community. This area is where the Banks families were originally located.
She married GW Roberts in Haskell on Oct 9, 1937. They were blessed with four children:

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband GW Roberts.
