Joe Carver, age 77, of Jonas Ridge, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville.
Joe was born on August 30, 1945 in Avery County, North Carolina, a son of the late John F. Carver and the late Lear Fox Carver.
Joe retired from Cannon Memorial Hospital after 40 years of working in the maintenance and housekeeping department. He also worked in shrubbery and did carpentry on the side. He was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church, and loved hunting, fishing, gardening and working in his flower garden.
He was preceded in death by his Father, John F Carver; Mother, Lear Carver; First Wife, Cara Olena Carver; Four Sisters, Faye Sheppard, Pearl Hicks, Lois Lusk, Hazel Gwyn; Brother, Howard Carver.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory Wife Cynthia Ann Carver; Daughter, Pam (Ricky) English of Newland, NC; Step-Daughter, Lisa (Ned) Guinn of Linville Falls, NC; Two Sons, Russell (Nancy) Carver of Elk Park, NC, Claude (Karen) Carver of Newland, NC; Sister, Carol Millwood of Marion, NC; Two Brothers, Junior (Debbie) Carver of Marion, NC, Stanley (Janie) Carver of Marion, NC; Grandchildren, John Adam Carver, Josh Carver, Emma Lee Carver, Porter Thomas Carver, Jordan English, Brandon English, Nyoka Potter, Rylie Daniels, Colby Guinn; Great Grandchildren, Justin, Austin, Kinsley, Sawyer, Laiken and Bryce.
Services for Joe Carver will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 beginning at 2:00 pm from the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Dellinger, Rev. Richard Sheppard and Rev. Gene Carver officiating.
Private interment will be in the Gwyn Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Nurses and Staff of Appalachian Healthcare and Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge.
