Mildred Joyce Ivey, 88, of Hammon, Oklahoma was born on July 13, 1934 in Strong City,(sic) Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Floyd and Bonnie (Moore) Malson. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Roger Mills Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.
Joyce spent her childhood and school years growing up on the family farm with her siblings in the Spring Creek community. She attended Spring Creek School through the seventh grade and then transferred to Hammon School when they consolidated. Joyce graduated Hammon High School, Hammon, Oklahoma and attended S.W.A.G. College in Waxahachie, Texas and later received degrees in Elementary Education and Master of Education from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

She married her best friend and sweetheart, Wayne Ivey on June 18, 1954 in Hammon, Oklahoma. They met while attending a college class and a friendship quickly started that would last over sixty-seven years. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2022.

Her teaching career included Dallas, Texas, Putnam, Leedey and Hammon where she taught Fifth Grade for twenty-one years. She also served as a pastor's wife during Wayne's years of ministry. Joyce was a member of the Hammon Community Fellowship Church. Her life was always centered around her family her faith, and her friends. Her greatest pleasure was when she spent time with her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Community Fellowship Church, Hammon, Oklahoma. Dolan Ivey and Kurtis Ivey will officiate. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing her memory is five sons, Dorvan Ivey and his wife, Debra of Hammon, Oklahoma, Dolan Ivey and his wife, Cheryl of Hammon, Oklahoma, Karl Ivey of Hammon, Oklahoma, Kurtis Ivey and his wife, Kit of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kyle Ivey and his wife, Angie of Hammon, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Kayne Ivey and his wife, Camille, Cole Ivey and his wife, Miriam, Lance Ivey and his wife, Bethany, Drew Ivey and his wife, Danielle, Clay Ivey and his wife, Kim, Katelyn Shepherd and her husband, Riley, Korbin Ivey and his wife, Jenna, Josie Ivey and Graham Ivey; and twenty-one loving great grandchildren, Brent, Madeline, Kayle, Cleat, Justen, Coy, Ella, Lani, Dakota, Dixon, Dallas, Lola, Kree, Durham, Bo, Catchem, Kenner, Oaklyn, Dawsyn, Kutler and Rhyen; three sisters, Helen Whitford, JoAnn Jones and her husband, Donald, Carolyn Harris and her husband, Lonnie; one brother, Roy Malson and his wife, Sharon; two sisters-in-law, JoJuan Watson, and Phabrice Scheidl; two brothers-in-law, Morris Ivey and his wife, Margo, and Ronnie Ivey and his Wife, Mona; as well as her nieces, nephews, an many other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Ivey; and her parents, Floyd and Bonnie Malson and her sister, Marg Allen.

Mildred Joyce Ivey, 88, of Hammon, Oklahoma was born on July 13, 1934 in Strong City,(sic) Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Floyd and Bonnie (Moore) Malson.
