On 21 June 1927 he married Alta Bowring. Grady was 22 years old and Alta was 20 years old. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and resided in Long Beach, California where she worked as a secretary at a plumbing company at the time of their marriage. Grady was working in the oil fields as a pumper in Long Beach. Grady and Alta later divorced.
Grady then married Gladys Viola Thompson Sharp om 12/ Aug 1933 in Santa Ana, California. Grady met Gladys as she and her brother Lester ran a restaurant in the Signal Hill area of Los Angeles. They resided in Bellflower, California for many years. They had two sons together Lee Roy Arnold and William Ray Arnold.
In the 1930's Grady had a mahogany yacht where a chauffeur drove the boat and he and his wife Gladys would go back and forth to Catalina Island to go dancing at the Catalina Casino in Avalon.
Grady also worked at the Jergin's Trust Building on the corner of Ocean and Pine. This building was the home of the Jergin oil company. This was located near the Long Beach Pike amusement park on the pier.
Grady and Gladys moved to Hawaiian Gardens. Grady enjoyed Shetland ponies and always had a pony for his grandchildren to ride. Grady had many amusing stories about growing up in Oklahoma.
Grady died 30 Mar 1983 shortly after holding his first great granddaughter, in Anaheim, California.
