Old Caney Cemetery records show that Millie Nelson was born November 1, 1860 and died September 25, 1938. She was the daughter of Michael Layman and Anna Nelson, appearing in the Grayson County, Kentucky 1880 census records with them.
We have found information on three of her five children listed below: Ida Belle Nelson Miller 1879–1948, Effie Nelson Embry 1884–1936 and Lena M. Nelson Campbell 1891–1979.
The other two children were, Myrtle Nelson, (born third in 1886) and her fourth child, Jessie Nelson, (born 1889). Jessie was the informant on her death certificate.
Permilia "Mollie" or "Milia" Layman married Columbus "Lum" Nelson about 1878 or 1879.
