Samuel W. Ball, a Quapaw Indian, died at his home on the reservation south of this city on Sunday morning. Funeral services were held Tuesday and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery near Lincolnville.

In addition to his mother, Sam had a sister, Minnie [Dawes] and a brother William Ball. He was listed as securing a marriage license in October 1915 in the Columbus, Kansas, newspaper to Eunice R "Monleses", whose name was reported inaccurately. She was Eunice Land Nonkesis, whose husband had died in 1914. In their Kansas marriage record she is listed as Eunice R. Nonkises, and the couple were married in Columbus, Kansas, on October 11. 1915.
