Mrs. Genevieve Taylor Clayton, age 78, celebration of life service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeff Gibson and Rev. David L. Holdman officiating.
Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park.
She was the beloved wife of Mr. Henry Randolph Clayton. She was born in Florence, SC to the late Mr. Gary D. and Dorothy C. Taylor.
She had made Aiken, SC her home for 57 years. Mrs. Clayton retired in 2001, after 20 years of service working in production at Smith/Kline Beecham. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and was involved in the senior Sunday school class. She was a colonial sewing seamstress, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, reading her Bible and spending time with family and friends. Her grands and great grands were the light of her life.
Survivors include: one son Johnny Campbell, Aiken, SC; two stepsons James (Denise) Clayton, Evans, GA, Joel (Emily) Clayton, Martinez, GA, one daughter, Gina (Matthew) Jarchow, Aiken, SC; and one stepdaughter Dana (Richie) Jenkins, Honea Path, SC; four brothers James Taylor, Charlie (Becky) Taylor, Jerry (Sharon) Taylor Sr, and Cecil Taylor, all of Effingham, SC; three sisters, Lois Broome, Shelby T. Poston, Pam (Dick) Powell, all of Effingham, SC; seven grandchildren; Ashley Lewis, Brittany Campbell, Johnny Campbell II, Tyler Jarchow, Heather Baker, Rayna Campbell, Keaton Campbell; four step grandchildren Derek Clayton, Clayton Jenkins, Chase Clayton, and Dustin Jenkins; and eleven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Clayton was predeceased by her first husband, Johnny E. Campbell; one son, Steve Campbell; one brother, Daniel Taylor; and one grandchild, Mackenzie Campbell.
