Was a farmer who rented his home and land, and may have been ill for awhile before his death, because his personal property was seized and auctioned to pay back rent less than a month following his decease.
Originally interred in Range F of the Second Presbyterian burial ground. His wife was also buried with him, and a headstone had been erected in their memory, apparently following her death. Unfortunately, it was mostly illegible by the 1860s. Removed to Mount Vernon Cemetery when the churchyard was cleared in 1867.
