According to the newspaper article about his death, he passed away on November 10 but the stone reads November 15.

KILLED IN INDIAN TERRITORY - Mr. Thomas Estes, who went from Metcalfe county to Indian Territory several years ago, died near Wynnewood, I.T., on November 10th last, from injuries sustained by a kick from a horse and was buried there on the 12th following. Mr. Estes was at the barn feeding his horses when one of them kicked him under the left shoulderblade. He was able to walk to the house with the assistance of his wife and daughter, but died within an hour after the accident. Mr. Estes was well and favorably known in Metcalfe and Barren counties, where he was born and reared, and had lived nearly all his life. He was married to Miss Ellen McFarland, of the Lick Branch neighborhood, and she with eight children survives him. He was thirty-five years of age and was a consistent member of the Methodist church, having professed religion at the Lick Branch church, in this county, twelve years ago.
