Dorothy Ann Gilliam Clifton

Dorothy Ann Gilliam Clifton, age 65, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 23, 2004 at her home with her daughter, Sandy, by her side.

Dorothy was of the Baptist faith. One of her favorite verses was 1st Corinthians 13:13: "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

She was born to Joe and Nettie Liford in 1939, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her was Eva Marie and Lori Ann, her baby daughters.

Surviving her are her daughters, Sandy Cooke of the home; Penny Manis of Rogersville; three grandchildren, Brandon Trent and wife, Tammy, Shawn Trent and wife, Stephanie, and Emily Manis; two great-grandchildren, Angel Trent and Skylar Trent; two step great-grandchildren; and the father of her children, Brady Gilliam. Also surviving are her brother, Harold Liford and wife, Myra of Rogersville; sister, Marie Jessee Ray of Church Hill; and three nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 in the Colboch-Price Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ted Riner officiating.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26 at Shady Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the services at the funeral home.
