He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Taylor and Kim Harton.
He is survived by one daughter, Claudie Woodard and her husband, Junior; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. John retired in 1972 as fire chief for DGSC (Bellwood) and was a US Navy veteran, and he also loved playing golf.
The family would like to thank Odyssey Health Care for all their assistance during this time, especially RN Kathleen Nethery and volunteer Anthony Simmons.
The family will receive friends Sunday (today), November 21, from 4 to 5 p.m. at Bliley's-Chippenham,
6900 Hull Street Rd. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. at
Dale Memorial Park.
