Potlatch -- The funeral for Alfred E. Crosby, 51, a Potlatch railroader, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Freeze Church with the Rev. Joe Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Freeze Cemetery near here.

Crosby died at a Spokane hospital Wednesday after a lengthy illness. He was a brakeman for the Washington, Idaho & Montana Railroad Co.

He had lived at Potlatch since 1949. He served with U.S. military forces in World War II and again in the Korean War, returning to Potlatch to stay in 1951.

Ho was born Dec. 16, 1924, at Cheyenne, Wyo. and attended high school at Miles City, Mont. He was married and divorced.

Survivors include a son, Alfred D. Crosby in the Navy at San Diego, three brothers, Bill of Moscow, and Ray and George, both of Seattle; a sister, Bessie Lynd of Moses Lake and two half-sisters, Vivien Moore and Florence Lauderbach, both of Seattle.
