Leonard Heuring, 98, of Forks, Washington, formerly of Toledo, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008, at the Bogachiel Adult Family Home. He was born May 18, 1909, to John and Pauline (Gerber) Heuring. Mr. Heuring was employed at LOF for more than 40 years, retiring in 1972. He coached basketball at St. Jerome and Good Shepherd schools, was a member of the Forks Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; wife, Martha; daughter, Joyce Gosbeth; son, John "Jack" Heuring, and brother, Herman. Leonard is survived by his children, Donna (Robert) St. John of Curtice, and James (Kathy) Heuring of Forks, Washington. Also surviving are his sisters, Stella Rawlins, Margaret Walters; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grand-children, and 13 great-great- grandchildren. Visitation is tentatively set for Friday from 3-8 p.m. at the Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon (419-691-6768), with a Rosary Service Friday evening. Funeral services will be Saturday, with prayers at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Forks Washington.
