Mary Beth received her bachelor's degree from Marycrest College, in Davenport, Iowa, and a master's degree in education from St. Xavier University, Chicago. She was a teacher in the Rock Island Public Schools for 27 years teaching at Grant and Ridgewood elementary schools. Mary Beth had also been a jazzercise instructor and in earlier years was a nurses aid at the former Lutheran Hospital, in Moline, Ill.
She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mary Beth never knew a stranger, everyone she met she greeted as a friend.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jeff; children, Bill (Naoko) Hicock, of Akron, Pa., Janine (Mike) Olson, of Bettendorf, and Ben Hicock, of Rock Island; five grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Paul) Fischer, of Rock Island; brothers, Bob (Nanette) Albracht, of Rock Island, Bill (Mary) Albracht, of Moline, and Don (Beth) Albracht, of Overland Park, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
"Please remember me the way I was, when I remembered you"
Soon to be heard in a new venue:
"Arrfff!"
"I'm sorry you'll have to come back later, we're doing the dishes."
"Dew, if it's going to break us up, I'll quit."
"You'll get nothing and like it."
"Study me, I'm history."
