Martha Baldridge, 94, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born May 30, 1928 in Macey to the late John and Lizzie Hout. She was a member of the Monette United Methodist Church for many years. She was an active member of UMW, and after her husband died she filled in as liturgist till health started failing her. She loved and taught school for forty years. Once a week she and several of her church friends sent birthday, congratulation, get well, etc cards to everyone that was brought to their attention.

Her passion was her husband of sixty-three years. They traveled and attended as many blue grass shows and gathering as they could. Come October they would drive down to spend winters in their second home located in Lehigh Acres, FL. While Devane fished she would read or go antique shopping with friends and family. She loved nothing more than being with family and friends. You hardly ever saw her without a smile and kind words on her lips. God truly blessed us with this lovely woman.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Matthews; six grandchildren, Warren Matthews, Ashley Alveraz (Brad), Becky Grady (Greg), Jackie Matthews, Allison Jordan (C. D.), and Bo Adams (Amber); son-in-law, Harry Adams Jr.; daughter-in-law, Patsy Bedford; sixteen wonderful great-grandchildren and five beautiful great-great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Devane Baldridge; a daughter, Patricia Adams; a son, Mitch Baldridge; granddaughter, Lela Adams Ashley and a son-in-law, Phillip Matthews and three brothers.

She will forever be missed by her family and friends. A remembrance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Monette United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Everett Isom officiating. Interment will follow at Macey Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
