John W. "Bill" Stafford, Jr. passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 22, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born in Ranger, Texas on June 11, 1929 to parents, John William Stafford, and Glena Maude (Robinson) Stafford. Bill married the love of his life Dot on June 5, 1948 and spent 69 wonderful years together till her passing in 2017. Bill began his career in Irving, Texas at Lone Star Gas before transferring as regional manager then to Abilene, Texas where he worked for 42 years until his retirement. Bill volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Abilene for 30 years. Bill loved dancing with Dot, and they were both a member of many square and round dancing groups in Abilene. Bill and Dot loved RVing and became a member of many local RV groups and enjoyed traveling as often as they could and after Bill's retirement made traveling a full time passion especially when it came to traveling to New Mexico. Bill loved sports and supporting his teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, but above all Bill loved watching his grandchildren and his great grandchildren play sports. He was a very outdoors type of person and any chance he got to fish he would. Bill was a faithful and active member of Abilene Baptist church and was known to be a very hard worker often known to jump in to help even well into his 90's. Above all Bill will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and friend who loved his family even Karen's little dog Benji dearly.
