Born in Millersburg, and Mr. Murray had lived in the Akron area for 70 years. A member of the Community Church of Portage Lakes, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of Joppa Lodge 666 in Akron for 70 years. He was a disabled American veteran of World War I, serving with Company D of the 332nd Infantry in Italy and a member of the American Legion Post 209. He was retired after 30 years service from the C. H. Yeager Co.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife, Eva Jordan Murray; son and daughter-in- law, Ray and Dorothy Murray of Portage Lakes; daughter and son-in-law; Dorothy and Richard Adams of Gadsden, Ala.; three grandchildren; and great-grandson.
Services will be held at the Billow Lakes Chapel, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (Route 619), ThursDAY, at 2 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home TONIGHT, 7 to 9; Joppa Lodge will conduct services at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Church of Portage Lakes, 3260 Cormany Rd., Akron 44319; or Disabled American Veterans, 1891 E. Market St., Akron 44305.
