He was self employed as a farmer and had a saw mill. He also drove school buses with Penasco Independent Schools for 12 years before retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Leonarda (Lovato) of Chamisal, NM; eight daughters: Faviola Dominguez of Chamisal, Betty Arrant of Penasco, Rose Gonzales, Mini Vigil and Bertha Maestas, all of Albuquerque, Delia Armijo of Los Alamos, Dorothy Gonzales of Rodarte and Naomi Alizando of Omaha, NE; and four sons: Jose Paz Lopez Jr., of Las Cruces, Paul Lopez and Jake King, both of Albuquerque and Leroy Lopez of Sierra Vista, AZ; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Burial in Chamisal Presbyterian Cemetery.
