HOUSER, L. Joan 83, Xenia, passed away Thursday morning, November 11, 2004, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born January 18, 1921, in Willard, Ohio, the daughter of Omar J. and Rachel Hyler. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church, Aldora Chapter #262, Order of the Eastern Star, and graduated with a business degree from the Ft. Wayne International College of Business. Joan loved golfing, dancing, sewing, knitting, and cooking. She was a brave woman, who would go camping out West for weeks at a time with her three boys and loving husband. She was truly loved and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Houser, whom she married, August 16, 1941, three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark A. (Kathleen) Houser, Xenia, Steven R. Houser, Xenia, and Kent (Marian) Houser, Akron, seven grandchildren, Christopher S. (Heather) Houser, Aaron R. (Emily) Houser, Kara J. Houser, Laura A. Houser, Brittany A. Houser, Shannon J. Houser and Kelsey M. Houser, two great-grandchildren, Colin C. Houser and Ellie Houser, and several close friends. Services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, November 15, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Sunday, with Eastern Star services at 7:30pm. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Greene Memorial Hospital, Inc.
