Mr. Roy Hattaway, age 76, of 1070 Jordan Mill Road in Sandersville died Monday June 13 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Lang's Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. J. Emory Lindsey officiated with burial in the Washington Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were grandsons.
Mr. Hattaway was a native of Glascock County, the son of the late Amos Hattaway and the late Alice Hadden Hattaway. He was a retired farmer, pulp wood operator and store manager. He had resided in Washington County most of his life and was a member of Sisters Baptist Church. Mr. Hattaway was a Disabled Army Veteran of World War II, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl B. Hattaway of Sandersville; two daughters, Sue H. King of Warner Robins and Cathy H. Smith of Sandersville; a son, Roy Gene Hattaway of Harrison; four sisters, Anne Lois Feola of Miami, Gloria Shuler of Jacksonville, Florida, Lynette Arnold of Orlando, Florida and Alice McGahee of Augusta; two brothers, Carey Hattaway of Sandersville and Amos Hattaway of Hemet, California.
Lang's Chapel of Sandersville was in charge of the arrangements.
