"Mr. Ray's mother, age 96 years, died at her son's home in this city, Monday. The remains were laid to rest in the McLaughlin cemetery near Cleora, Tuesday afternoon. SUN extends condolences."

Rebecca Ann Jane Keith was born Aug 1817 in Kentucky (census). She was the daughter of Zephaniah Keith and Rebecca Patterson. The family moved to Mason County, Illinois.

Rebecca married Moses Ray, a native of Tennessee, on 07 May 1842 at Mason County, Illinois. In 1850 (Census), Moses, Rebecca, their daughter, Mary R. Ray, age 7, and their son, Hiram Ray, age 2, lived in Mason County. They still lived in Mason County in 1860, at which time Rebecca's name was recorded as "Jane" and Hiram's name was recorded as "Joseph".

Rebecca and Moses moved to Richardson County, Nebraska, where other members family members lived. The family included Rebecca's sister, Mary Keith Ray, wife of Abner Ray.

Moses preceded Rebecca in death in 1868 at Richardson County.

This researcher has not found 1870 census records for Rebecca and the children. By 1876, they lived in Bates County, Missouri. Rebecca's daughter Mary R. , married Richard Walker* on 27 May 1876 at Bates County, Missouri. Rebecca's son, Hiram Ray, married Amanda Welch on 23 Jun 1877, at Bates County, Missouri.

*Richard Walker's first wife was Mary J. Ray, daughter of Abner Ray and Mary Keith Ray, Rebecca's sister. Mary J. Walker died in 1968 in Richardson County, Nebraska. Mary J. and Richard Walker had four young children, who moved with the Abner Ray family to the Washington territory.

In 1880 (census), Rebecca A. J. Ray lived with her daughter Mary R. (Ray) Walker, Mary's husband, Richard Walker, and their daughters, Rosa and Sarah, in Walnut Township, Bates County, Missouri. Rebecca's son, Hiram, also lived in Walnut Township with his wife Amanda (Welch) Ray.

Rebecca's daughter, Mary R. Walker, and family moved to Slaughter [now Auburn], King County, Washington territory, near Richard's older children, and Rebecca's sister, Mary Ray, and family.

In 1900, Rebecca Ann Jane Ray was living with her son, Hiram, and his wife, Amanda, in Township 25, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. Rebecca's daughter-in-law, Amanda, passed away in 1905. In 1910, Rebecca J. Ray, age 90, was living with her son Joseph H. Ray, in Township 5, Delaware, Oklahoma.

Rebecca passed away 15 Jan 1912 at her son's home, Grove, Oklahoma. She was laid to rest in the McLaughlin Cemetery, Cleora, Delaware County, Oklahoma, where her daughter-in-law, Amanda Ray, was laid to rest in 1905.
