John Morge was first married to Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie," daughter of French immigrant Jacob Goodbub of New Albany on 03 Oct 1865. Their known issue were Emma C., Hattie Cornelia, Nellie M., Flora Catherine, Charles A., and Clarence Edgar Morge.
After Lizzie's early death he next married Martha Jane Churchill at DePauw, Indiana in 1890. They were the parents of one known child: Harry Edgar Morge. They never appear together on a census record for they were soon divorced.
On 08 Jun 1894 John next married the widow Martha Belle Klitch, daughter of Joseph and Isabelle (Tucker) Wilhite, in Jennings County, Indiana. With her, he had three additional children: John Philip, Herbert A., and Ruth Morge.
Former Manufacturer In Seymour Is Dead
Word has been received here of the death of John Morge, age 83, at Terre Haute. Mr. Morge at one time operated a pants manufactory in the third floor of the Gold Mine building in this city.
Death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. [Emma/Emily] Noel Lejeune.
Mr. Morge was a member of Hermion lodge, Knights of Pythias.
