Death of Mrs. Jane Chitwood
Mrs. Jane Chitwood died at her home in Oskaloosa Monday at the aged of 74 years, 3 months and 29 days. Her death resulted from burns received some two weeks ago. She started to light a lamp when it was accidentally upset and broken and burning coal oil ignited her clothing. A change for the worse set in last Friday, death occurring at the time above stated. For two weeks she lingered in great pain. Mrs. Chitwood had resided in Jefferson county about 33 years, coming here from Kentucky, in which state she was born. She is survived by 10 children--5 girls and 5 boys. Funeral services were held at Liberty church, Tuesday, conducted by Dr. Davis of Oskaloosa and interment was in Oak Ridge cemetery.
