Albertina (Tina) B. Adcock died peacefully at her home at Balfour Retirement Community on January 11, 2023. She was born November 12, 1933 in Boulder, CO, the daughter of Lila Gorce Almgren and Earl W. Almgren. The first family home was in Dillon, CO, until 3 years of age. They moved to Glenwood Springs, CO, where she lived until moving to Boulder in 1949. She graduated from Boulder High School in 1951. Having received a scholarship from the Engineering Experiment Station, Tina attended the University of Colorado and graduated from the School of Pharmacy with honors in 1955. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Rho Chi pharmacy honorary, and an honorary chemical sorority. She worked first at Campus Drug in Greeley as a pharmacist and later at Community Drug in Boulder. She retired in 1996 after working 39 years at the Boulder Medical Center Pharmacy.
Tina married Frank E. Adcock on January 29, 1956 at St. John Episcopal Church in Boulder. She is survived by two children: Karen Lila Fitzgerald and son-in-law Jim Fitzgerald of Palo Alto, CA, and Frank W. Adcock and daughter-in-law Wendy Adcock of Woodridge IL She is also survived by six grandchildren (Meaghan, Kelly, and Connor Fitzgerald, and Andrew, Zachary, and Ryan Adcock) as well as two great-grandchildren. Her husband Frank passed away in 2019.
She was a member of St. Luke Christian Orthodox Church in Erie, CO from the founding of the church in 1991. She was active in prayer and pastoral support groups, women's study, choir, bread baking ministry, and sewing. Other interests include playing the mountain dulcimer and as part of a group of dulcimer players. She also enjoyed quilting. Frank and Tina belonged to Scootbacks square dance group and Boulder Rounders round dancing club. They also enjoyed ballroom and line dancing. Tina served as a volunteer since 1997 as a Senior Peer Counselor with the Boulder County Mental Health Department and Boulder Senior Center.
Orthodox funeral service will be at St. Luke Church in Erie on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM, visitation will begin prior to the service at 9:30 AM. Burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
